Nixtamal is used for the production, not conventional corn flour. For Nixtamal, the corn is cooked in water with lime, husked and then ground. This is a very old process used by the peoples of Mesoamerica and gives the corn, and therefore the tortillas, a special flavor.
Komali does not manufacture in Mexico, but sources 100% maize from Mexico for its production, guaranteed without genetic manipulation. The best way to heat the tortillas is to use a hotplate ("Comal", available in our "Kitchen Utensils" category) or a flat pan. Sprinkle the plate with some water and the tortilla will get its original moisture content back.
