As we all know Takis are small rolled tortillas that simulate tacos, with an intense and deliciously spicy flavor!  But, have you ever wondered what is their story and what makes them so addictive?

Takis were created in Mexico in 1999. They are currently owned by Barcel, a subsidiary of Bimbo Group. Takis were initially launched in Mexico and Central America because of their characteristic slightly spicy, lemony flavor. However, they have gradually managed to win the hearts of snack fans around the world with powerful flavors.

The brand has diversified its range of products and today we can find 17 flavors of Takis, depending on the geographical region where we are. Among the most popular are: Takis Original, Takis Fuego, Takis Blue Heat, Takis Nitro, Takis Guacamole, Takis Crunchy Fajitas, Takis Volcano and Takis Extra Hot. There are some lesser-known or time-limited versions such as Takis Random, Takis Wild, Takis Angry Burger flavor, Takis Titan flavor, Takis BBQ Picante, Takis Xplosion flavor, Takis Salsa Brava, Takis Blue Flame, Takis Zombie and Takis Broccoli.
The previously mentioned flavors are the result of combining different intensities and varieties of chili peppers with other ingredients such as lemon, Habanero, cheese, avocado, and buffalo sauce among others; to give a wide variety of tastes to our palates.

In addition to the traditional Takis as rolled tortillas with different flavors, the brand also handles other products with the characteristic flavor: Takis Fuego Waves, Takis Fuego Hot Nuts, Takis Fuego Pop, Takis Fuego Stix, Takis Fuego Watz, Takis Fuego Chips, Takis Fuego Meat Sticks, Takis Fuego Sunflower Seeds and last but not least; the Takis Fuego Lollipop.

There is a great division among Takis fans. On the one hand, we have those who love and want to try all the variety of flavors and presentations of Takis brand products, and on the other hand, the millions of Takis Fuego fanatics around the world.

Takis Fuego were originally created to please the palate of young people in Mexico. The flavor was developed, particularly highlighting Mexican flavors through a blend of chili peppers and lime. Under the slogan "dare to live intensely" and "let the intensity explode", Takis Fuego are presented as a daring snack with an intense flavor that invites you to take the challenge to try them.

Regarding the addiction to Takis Fuego, many people express that the spicy and sour mixture is what stimulates them the most to try them and not to stop eating them. They explain that their flavors create an explosion in the mouth, where the amount of heat from the chili is strong, without being intolerable, and is complemented by the acidity of the lemon. Recently, the Takis Madness has gone viral on social media, especially the Takis Fuego Madness. In an article published by Londou Trading LTD on March 28, 2022, in the current year, Takis became the new hot trend in snacks!

Across all platforms we can observe countless posts and videos, with millions of views and likes. The hashtags #Takis and #TakisFuego on Facebook have +14k and +5.2k posts respectively, on Instagram +232k and +35k posts correspondingly, on TikTok #Takis has +3.8B views and #TakisFuego +908M views; it is more than clear that Takis are a global trend! 

Likewise, we can find thousands of people trying different flavors and Takis products, doing different challenges, video blogs of people who can't live without Takis, as well as thousands of recipes with Takis Fuego. Among the most outstanding recipes are tortillas, corn, Maruchan, hamburgers, breaded products, sandwiches, drinks and even ice cream!
